Its another headache for the makers of Tylenol. The drug company McNeil has voluntarily recalled 60,000 bottles of Tylenol Extra Strength Caplets, due to a “musty, moldy” odor, according to the company’s website. The bottles containing 225 caplets were manufactured in February 2009. McNeil linked the odor to small amounts of the chemical known as 2,4,6-tribromoanisole, a chemical compound which is used as a fungicide in packaged goods. Back in March, McNeil recalled bottles of its Tylenol 8 Hour Extended Release Caplet due to the odor-causing chemical. That product was made in a manufacturing plant that had been voluntarily closed in April 2010.In February, the company recalled thousands of bottles of the cold medicine Sudafed – not because of a bad smell but due to faulty labeling.
